Marcum Garners First OAC Hitter of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior right fielder Alex Marcum (Granville) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.  

Marcum, who earns his first career hitter of the week honor, led BW to a win over Ohio Wesleyan University and split a doubleheader against OAC and cross-town rival John Carroll University. Last week, he batted .444 with three doubles, one triple, one homerun and seven runs batted in (RBI). In game one of the doubleheader against John Carroll, Marcum went a perfect five-for-five with three doubles and five RBI.

In his four seasons as a Yellow Jacket, he has played in 85 games, has batting average of .310, an on base percentage of .380 and a slugging percentage of .452. The right fielder and backup catcher has recorded 255 putouts and only committed 14 errors.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, March 28 when it hosts La Roche (Pa.) College in a non-conference game on Fisher Field at 4 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 18 but was postponed to inclement weather.
