BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin-Wallace College women's swimming and diving teams lost in Ohio Athletic Conference dual match competition to Ohio Northern University today (Saturday, January 21, 2012) in the B-W Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center. It was Seniors' & Parents' Day and the final home meet of the season.
The Polar Bear women defeated B-W, 156-86. With its loss, the B-W women are now 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the OAC.
The women were led by four-time NCAA Division III All-American junior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Heights) as she won the 1-meter voluntary event with 270.20 points and the 1-meter optional event with 183.05 points.
In addition, sophomore Angela Musille (Canton/GlenOak) won the 200-yard IM, and the 100-yard breastroke. In the 200-yard IM she swam a time of 2:20.11 and in the 100-yard breastroke she came in at a time of 1:09.08. Freshman Carli Dugan (Mentor) came in first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.53 seconds. Freshman Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich./Plymouth-Canton) came in right behind Dugan in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.55 seconds.
The Yellow Jackets end the 2011-2012 regular next weekend, January 27-28 when they compete in a pair of dual meets away from Berea. On Friday, Jan. 27, B-W travels to University Circle to swim against Case Western Reserve University at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 28, B-W is in University Heights to swim against OAC Cross-town rival John Carroll University at 1:00 p.m.
The 2012 OAC Championship Meet is from February 16-18 at the University of Akron. Prelims begin each day at 11:00 a.m. and the finals for those events will be contested at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please visit the OAC web site at www.oac.org.
