HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team lost to Albion (Mich.) College, 8-1, today in the third of six matches on its annual Spring Break Trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Earlier this morning, the Yellow Jackets defeated NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan University, 7-2.

The Yellow Jackets, now 3-5 overall, trailed 3-0 after doubles play as the number one tandem of senior Morgan Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic) and sophomore Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) lost, 8-3. No. 2 duo of sophomore Mackenzi Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic) and sophomore Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/ Davidson) lost, 8-1. The No.3 tandem of freshman Claire Watts (Medina) and senior Whitney Yoder (Medina) lost, 8-6. 

In singles action, Blatt lost at No.1 by the scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Morgan Baker lost at No.2 by the scores of 6-1 and 6-0. Watts lost at No.3 by the scores of 6-0 and 6-3. Mackenzi Baker lost at No.4 by the scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Yoder won at No.5 by the scores of 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9 in the tie-breaker). Freshman Anatasia Koval (Seven Hills/ Normandy) lost at No.6 by the scores of 6-4 and 6-4.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 11, BW plays a pair of matches when it faces Spring Arbor (Mich.) College at 8:00 a.m. and NCAA Division II Fairmont State (W.Va) University at 3:00 p.m. The Jackets end their spring schedule in Hilton Head on Wednesday when they play Lake Forest (Ill.) College at 6:00 p.m.

BW opens Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 22 at Capital University at 1:00 p.m. The Yellow Jackets play their first home match on Saturday, March 29 when it hosts OAC-rival Marietta College at the "Pop" Collins Courts in Berea at 1:00 p.m.
