HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis lost to Carroll (Wis.) College, 6-3, in its fourth match on its annual spring break trip to the Hilton Head Tennis and Beach Club. BW plays its final spring break match tonight at 6 p.m. versus the Catholic (Washington D.C.) University of America.
The Yellow Jackets (1-8) won one of two doubles matches and trailed, 2-1, after doubles action. The number three duo of freshman
Shannon Finkenthal (Beachwood) and junior
Hayley Peterson (Tulsa, Okla.) were the lone victors by an 8-4 score.
In singles play, BW won two of six matches. At number three singles, junior
Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/ Davidson) won by the scores of 6-3 and 7-5, and
Peterson won at No.4 singles by a 6-4 and 6-3 score.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 21 when BW opens its home and Ohio Athletic Conference schedule against Capital University at the "Pop" Collins Tennis Complex at 1 p.m. BW also is at home to host a non-league match versus Adrian (Mich.) College on Friday, March 27 at 4 p.m.
