Women's Cross Country Places 16th in Great Lakes Regional Championships

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team placed 16th of 39 eligible teams as it competed in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships, hosted by Franklin (Ind.) College at the Blue River Cross Country Course. 

In a 6-kilometer event that was composed entirely of schools within the Great Lakes Region, DePauw (Ind.) University took home the Great Lakes Regional team title with 91 points and Calvin (Mich.) University placed second with 94 points. Therefore, DePauw (Ind.) secured the regional automatic bid to the National Championships. 

BW was led in the 6k by: 
  • Freshman All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Gianna Pedone (Strongsville) finished 53rd in a time of 23:21.95
  • Sophomore All-OAC runner Rylee Barno (Columbus / Bexley) placed 85th in a time of 24:03.77
  • Junior Katie Plecko (Rootstown) finished 86th in a time of 24:04.35
