BEREA, Ohio – In its home opener, the Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams remained undefeated on the season as it knocked off Ohio Wesleyan University by a final score of 140-100 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
BW (4-0) won seven individual events and one relay. Ohio Wesleyan (0-2) won three individual events and one relay.
Individuals
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke with times of 25.94 and 1:03.30, respectively
- Junior stroker Mallory Upcraft (Oswego, N.Y.) won the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley with times of 58.65 and 2:22.85, respectively
- Sophomore All-OAC diver Ella Steen (Madison/Painesville Riverside) won the 1-meter 6-dive event with a total of 231.85 points.
- Freshman diver Emmalie Mitzel (Massillon/Jackson) won both 1-meter 5-dive event with a total of 157.35 points
- Freshman stroker Brooke Radcliff (North Canton/Hoover) won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.51
- Sophomore All-OAC freestyler Melina Roberts (Westlake) was second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:50.34
- Sophomore stroker Kaela Gallion (Valley City/Buckeye) was second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:32.33
- Sophomore stroker Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) was second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:12.12
- Sophomore stroker Abby Marquardt (Pickerington/Central) was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:7.07
Relays
- The 200-yard medley unit of Radcliff, freshman stroker Amelia Wands (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North), Dondorfer and junior freestyler Emily Kusar (Perry) won in a time of 1:58.33
- The 400-yard freestyle squad of freshman freestyler Annalise Bolton (Berea/Berea-Midpark), Radcliff, junior Academic All-OAC stroker Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) and Upcraft took second in a time of 3:59.96
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 16 when they host an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet against the University of Mount Union at 1 p.m.
