No. 15 Men’s Wrestling Places Fifth at 60th North Central (Ill.) Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The No. 15 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team finished in fifth place at the 60th North Central College Invitational inside Residence Hall.
 
BW was fifth of 19 teams with 85 points.   No. 1 nationally ranked Augsburg (Minn.) University was the champion with 165.5 points.
 
The Yellow Jackets had four wrestlers place in the top 5, including one champion and two runner-ups.

Senior All-American 157-pounder Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley), who is the two-time defending NCAA Champion at 149 pounds -- Champion
  • Bye in the first round
  • Won a 10-1 major decision over Luke Swan of Wisconsin-Whitewater
  • Won a 16-0 technical fall over Zaren Anderson of Carthage (Wis.)
  • Won an 18-2 technical fall over No. 10 nationally ranked Nate Camiscioli of Castleton (Vt.)
  • Won a 4-0 decision over Karsen Otis of Augsburg (Minn.)
Senior All-American and No. 2 nationally ranked 131-pounder Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J.) – Second Place
  • Bye in the first round
  • Won a 15-0 technical fall over Traic Fainter of Coe (Iowa)
  • Won a 15-0 technical fall over Tyler Weidman of Wisconsin-Whitewater
  • Won a 17-2 technical fall over Bryce Parke of Coe (Iowa)
  • Loss a 14-10 decision to Dominik Mallinder of Wisconsin-Whitewater
Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference and No. 6 nationally ranked 165-pounder Andrew Supers (Medina) – Second Place
  • Won a 15-0 technical fall over Nicholas Asllani of Elmhurst (Ill.)
  • Won an 8-2 decision over Trenton Dow of Augsburg (Minn.)
  • Won a 3-1 decision over Jashon Holmes of Castleton (Vt.)
  • Won a 12-0 major decision over Alex Villar of North Central
  • Loss a 5-3 decision to Cooper Willis of Augsburg (Minn.)
Senior All-OAC and No. 14 nationally ranked 174-pounder Carter Lloyd (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) – Fifth Place
  • Won an 11-5 decision over Jaylen Young of Wabash (Ind.)
  • Won a 12-5 decision over Emanuel Diaz of Aurora (Ill.)
  • Loss a 5-2 decision to Nick Alexander of Augsburg (Minn.)
  • Won a 10-2 major decision over Syrus Colon of Castleton (Vt.)
  • Loss by pinfall in 1:24 to Estrada of North Central (Ill.)
  • Won a 7-2 decision over Desmond McLaughlin of Castleton (Vt.)
BW is back in action on Saturday, December 21 when they travel to Providence, Rhode Island to compete in the East Coast Duals hosted by No. 4 nationally ranked Johnson and Wales University inside the Wildcat Center.   The Yellow Jackets will compete against No. 16 Wabash (Ind.) College at 1 p.m., No. 7 Castleton (Vt.) University at 3 p.m. and Johnson and Wales at 5 p.m.
