No. 6 Men’s Wrestling Dominates OAC Duals

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The No. 6 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team won three matches at the Ohio Athletic Conference Duals hosted by John Carroll University inside the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center.

BW (10-4, 5-0 OAC) opened the duals with a 57-0 victory over Muskingum University (0-11, 0-4 OAC).   The Yellow Jackets then defeated the University of Mount Union (8-11, 3-3 OAC by a final score of won by forfeit 38-12.  BW closed out the duals with a 40-3 victory over John Carroll (9-5, 3-2 OAC).

The Yellow Jackets have now won 44 straight OAC matches.

Vs. Muskingum
  • 125-pounds:  Freshman Dorian Hoffman (Luzerne, Pa./Wyoming Valley) won by forfeit
  • 133-pounds:  Senior All-American and No. 5 nationally ranked Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J.) won by forfeit
  • 141-pounds:  Sophomore Keegan McMahon (Ashburn, Va./Paul VI Catholic) won by forfeit
  • 149-pounds:  Junior Manny Scordos (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won by pinfall in 1:51
  • 157-pounds:  Sophomore Braeden Stallworth (New Waterford/Crestview) won by pinfall in 7:00
  • 165-pounds:  Sophomore All-OAC and No. 11 nationally ranked Andrew Supers (Medina) won by forfeit
  • 174-pounds:  Senior All-OAC Carter Lloyd (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won by forfeit
  • 184-pounds:  Junior Academic All-OAC Remington Bauer (Norwalk/Edison) won by forfeit
  • 197-pounds:  Senior Academic All-OAC and No. 15 nationally ranked Joey Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) won by forfeit
  • 285-pounds:  Senior Academic All-OAC Ben DeGuzman (North Canton/Hoover) won a 13-7 decision

  • 125-pounds:  Hoffman won a 17-1 technical fall
  • 133-pounds:  Hinton won an 18-2 technical fall
  • 141-pounds:  McMahon loss by pinfall in 5:52
  • 149-pounds:  Scordos won a 17-2 technical fall
  • 157-pounds:  Senior All-American and No. 1 nationally ranked Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) won a 17-0 technical fall
  • 165-pounds:  Supers won by pinfall in 33 seconds.
  • 174-pounds:  Senior Brandon Burkhart (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) won an 11-1 major decision
  • 184-pounds:  Bauer won a 19-4 technical fall
  • 197-pounds:  J. Petrella won a 4-1 decision over No. 14 nationally ranked Bryce McCloskey
  • 285-pounds:  Sophomore Angelo Camargo (Brook Park/St. Ignatius) loss by pinfall in 1:21

  • 133-pounds:  Hinton won a 9-0 major decision

BW is back in action on Sunday, January 19 when it travels to Alliance to compete in the Purple Raider Open hosted by Mount Union in the Peterson Field House inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Center at 9:30 a.m.
