DiCenzo and Kennedy Win First Career Championships, Women’s Wrestling Finishes Third at Spartan Mat Classic

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Freshman 124-pounder Abby DiCenzo (Tampa, Fla./Bell Creek Academy) and freshman 207-pounder Gabby Kennedy (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) each claimed their first collegiate championship to lead the Baldwin Wallace University women's wrestling team to a third-place finish at the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester University inside the Stauffer-Wolfe Arena
BW was third of eight teams with 65 points.   NAIA Indiana Institute of Technology was the champion with 99 points.
 
The Yellow Jackets had six wrestlers place in the top four, including two champions and one runner-up

124-pounder DiCenzo - Champion

  • Won an 8-3 decision over Marisa Moffitt of NAIA Indiana Tech

BW is back in action on Saturday, January 25 when it travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana to compete in the Warrior Open hosted by Indiana Tech in the Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility at 10 a.m.
