Men's Swimming and Diving Drops OAC Meet to Mount Union
ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet to the University of Mount Union by a final score of 138-57 in the Hammond Natatorium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
BW (2-4, 0-2 OAC) won three individual events. Mount Union (3-2, 2-0 OAC) won eight individual events and one relay.
Individuals
- Freshman diver Malcolm Thompson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) won the 1-meter and five-dive and 1-meter and six-dive events
- Sophomore stroker Mason Carnahan (Willard) won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:41.91 and took third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 53.66
- Junior stroker Michael Gruber III (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) took third in the 500-yard freestyle and 1000-yard freestyle in times of 5:29.85 and 11:16.55
- Senior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) finished third in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:10.66 and took fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:22.04
- Sophomore stroker Danny Murphy (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) took third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.13
- Senior Academic All-OAC freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) took fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:58.30
- Freshman stroker Aidan Bacon (Upper Sandusky) took fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:21.16
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Thursday, November 20 when they travel to Canton to compete in the first day of the three day NCAA Division II Malone University Invitational inside the C.T. Natatorium. Preliminary action is schedule to begin at 10 a.m. with finals to be contested at 6 p.m.
