No. 20 Men’s Wrestling Drops Highly Contested Home Opener to No. 24 Washington & Lee (Va.)

BEREA, Ohio – The No. 20 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team fell to No. 24 nationally ranked Washington and Lee (Va.) University in a non-conference home opening dual match by a final score of 20-18 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (0-2) won four matches, including three straight to take the lead, while Washington and Lee (3-0) claimed six victories, including the final two to secure the win.

  • 125-pounds:             Junior Kiernan Magee (Penfield, N.Y.) loss a 5-2 decision
  • 133-pounds:             Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference Dorian Hoffman (Luzerne, Pa./Wyoming Valley) loss a 7-6 decision to No. 7 nationally ranked Vincent Ziccardi
  • 141-pounds:             Freshman Nathan Moser (Middletown/Monroe) loss a 17-2 technical fall to No. 13 nationally ranked Skylar Hickman
  • 149-pounds:             Senior All-OAC Manny Scordos (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won a 5-1 decision over No. 7 nationally ranked Evan Linder
  • 157-pounds:             Junior Academic All-OAC Braeden Stallworth (New Waterford/Crestview) loss a 4-0 decision
  • 165-pounds:             Senior All-American and No. 4 nationally ranked Andrew Supers (Medina) won by pinfall 1:59 over No. 9 nationally ranked Mark Troni
  • 174-pounds:              Senior All-OAC Tommy West (Avon Lake/St. Edward) won a 3-0 decision
  • 184-pounds:              Senior All-OAC, Academic All-OAC and No. 10 nationally ranked Remington Bauer (Norwalk/Edison) won a 20-5 technical fall
  • 197-pounds:              Junior Academic All-OAC Dominic Pagan (Poland/Seminary) loss a 2-1 decision to No. 10 nationally ranked John Santowski
  • 285-pounds:             Sophomore No. 10 nationally ranked Christian McChesney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg-Salem) loss a 4-2 decision                       
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 22 when they host the BW Invitational inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 10 a.m.
