Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) and junior stroker
Matias Cordero (Cuenca, Ecuador/Joseph de Jussieu) competed in the Kenyon College Fast Chance Invitational inside the James A. Steen Aquatics Center as the duo looked to improve their times to qualify for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
McQueary, who was the OAC Champion and school-record holder in the 100-yard butterfly finished second of 15 competitors in a time of 49.20, which was not fastest enough to qualify for the national meet.
Cordero competed in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. He finished 11th of 12 swimmers in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 53.91 and was 20th of 30 competitors in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 21.63, which were not fastest enough to qualify for the national meet.
