HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team closed out its spring break trip as it fell to Catholic (D.C.) University in a non-conference match by a final score of 4-3 at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort.
BW (12-2) won two doubles matches and two singles matches. Catholic (8-1) won one doubles matches and four singles matches.
Doubles
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and junior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) fell at first doubles by a score 6-0
- Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and freshman Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W. Va.) won at second doubles by a score of 6-1
- Junior Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) and freshman Vinny Cannata (Aurora) won at third doubles by a score of 6-4
Singles
- Horvath won at first singles by scores of 7-6 (7-4) and 7-5
- McGee fell at second singles by scores of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3
- Cannata fell at third singles by a score of 4-6, 6-3 and 11-9
- Harders fell at fourth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-4
- Freshman Will Westberry (Niles, Mich./St. Joseph's {Ind.}) won at fifth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3
- Junior Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) fell at sixth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 22 when they host a men's and women's non-conference doubleheader against Adrian (Mich.) College on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
