Women’s Golf Finishes in Third Place at Rain Shortened Mount Union Spring Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in third place at the rain shortened University of Mount Union Spring Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club. The invitational was scheduled for two days but rain on Sunday canceled the final round.

BW was third of teams with a total of 364 strokes on the par-72 and 5,546 Tannenhauf layout.  Mount Union was the champion with 329 strokes.

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Alana Smith (Freemont/Ross) tied for second place of 35 golfers as she fired a round of 79
  • Senior Academic All-OAC Brooke Newsome (Clyde) placed ninth as she carded a round of 87
  • Freshman Gillian Mitchell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) was 15th as she shot a round of 90
  • Senior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) posted a round of 108
  • Freshman Jessie Herron (Tiffin/Columbian) had a round of 121
Individual The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday and Monday April 6 and 7 when they compete at the Infiniti Classic hosted by Ohio Northern University at Stonewater Golf Club and Little Mountain Country Club.
