ADA, Ohio – Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed at the Polar Bear Qualifier (hosted by Ohio Northern University) inside of the ONU Sports Center. Each student-athlete competed in order to obtain a qualifying mark to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championship meet next week.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) won the 800-meter run in a time of 1:55.22.
- Freshman All-OAC distance runner Will Prato (Massillon / Jackson) finished third in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:56.50.
- Freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Aidan Simmons (Frederick, Md. / Walkersville) placed third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.34.
Field events highlights:
- Senior All-American jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a distance of 2.06 meters.
- Senior All-OAC thrower Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) won the shot put with a mark of 16.08 meters.
On the relay side:
- In the distance medley relay squad, Sikorski, sophomore All-OAC sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty), Prato, and sophomore All-OAC distance runner Dillon Hach (Medina) finished third in a time of 10:07.15.
The Yellow Jackets will now wait and see which athletes qualify for the 2025 NCAA Indoor National Championships, hosted Friday and Saturday, March 14-15 by Nazareth (N.Y.) College in Rochester, New York.
