Baseball Clashes with Kent State

KENT, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team was defeated by Kent State University by a final score of 11-1 in a non-conference game at Schoonover Stadium.

Scoring Plays

  • Top 5th - Senior second baseman Grant Mitchell (Avon) walked with the bases loaded to bring home senior Academic All-OAC catcher Eric Coode (Painesville/Mentor) for the Brown and Gold's lone run of the day

At the Plate

  • Junior All-OAC center fielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City) singled in his only at bat of the day and drew one walk
  • Junior All-OAC shortstop Sean Kolenich (Parma/St. Edward) tallied the only other hit for BW with an infield single
  • Sophomore third baseman Colin West (Westborough, Mass./Worcester Academy) had his third stolen base of the year

On the Mound

  • Senior All-OAC right-hander Dylan Snyder (Stow/Archbishop Hoban) got the start as he allowed only one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts in two thirds of an inning
  • Junior All-OAC right-hander Tyler Walker (Fairlawn/Copley) pitched 3.2 innings where he allowed four runs on five hits and had one strikeout
  • Senior right-hander Mason Decker (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) only gave up two hits in his two thirds of an inning while also striking out one
  • Freshman right-hander Carson Wilcox (Dublin/Coffman) retired all three batters in the bottom of the sixth
