Men’s Tennis Drops OAC Tournament Semifinals Match to Otterbein

COLUMBUS, Ohio –
The third-seeded Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team fell to third-seeded Otterbein University in an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal match by a final score of 4-0 at the New Albany Tennis Center.

In the OAC Tournament, the team that secures four points first wins the match and all matches on the court at the time of the winning point will be deemed as not finished. The winner of at least two doubles matches secures just one point.

Otterbein (15-8) advances to the OAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, May 3 against top-seeded Ohio Northern University. BW (15-5) ends its season.

Doubles
  • Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and junior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) won at first doubles by a score 7-6
  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and freshman Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W. Va.) fell at second doubles by a score of 7-6
  • Freshman Vinny Cannata (Auroa) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) fell  at third doubles by a score of 6-4
Singles
  • Horvath did not finish at first singles with scores of 3-6 and 1-4
  • McGee fell at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3
  • Cannata did not finish at third singles by scores of 2-6, 6-0 and 3-2
  • Harders fell at fourth singles by scores of 7-5 and 6-3
  • Freshman Will Westberry (Niles, Mich./St. Joseph's {Ind.}) fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
  • Weingart did not finish at sixth singles by a score of 0-1
