ALLIANCE, Ohio - The third-seeded Baldwin Wallace University baseball team defeated fourth-seeded John Carroll University in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by the University of Mount Union by a final score of 9-2 at Rafeld-Rogers Field to advance to the OAC Championship Series for the second straight season.

- Bottom 2nd - Sophomore designated hitter Colin West (Westborough, Mass./Worcester Academy) lined out to left but junior All-OAC center fielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City) tagged up from third to put the Jackets on the board
- Bottom 3rd - Senior All-OAC first baseman Mally Kilbane (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) executed the hit-and-run to score senior right fielder Justin Carinci (Ajax, Ontario/Pickering) from second
- Bottom 4th - West stayed hot with an RBI single
- Bottom 5th - Kilbane smacked a double off the fence in right-center for his second RBI of the day
- Bottom 6th - Sophomore catcher Mason Fixx (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) hit a long foul ball to right, but allowed West to tag from third
- Bottom 6th - Senior All-OAC left fielder Joey Marousek (North Royalton) drove in his first run of the day with an RBI single
- Bottom 8th - Carinci had a two-out single up the middle to start some late-game scoring
- Bottom 8th - Kilbane wrapped up his big day at the plate with an two-run double down the line
At the Plate
- Kilbane and Marousek each led the team going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one RBI, respectively
- West went 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored a run
- Carinci tied a game-high two runs scored after going 2-for-4 with an RBI
- Junior All-OAC center fielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City), junior All-OAC third baseman Sean Kolenich (Parma/St. Edward), and senior Academic All-OAC shortstop Noah English (Perrysburg) each added two base knocks and scored one run
On the Mound
- Junior Academic All-OAC left-hander Brit Kostura (Tequesta, Fla./Jupiter Christian School) threw the Jackets' second straight complete game of the tournament where he struck out five and allowed two runs on four hits and a walk

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, May 10 as they begin the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship Series hosted by the University of Mount Union where they will take on second-seeded Ohio Northern University at 12 p.m. at Rafeld-Rogers Field.
