WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University freshman men's golfer Anthony Asta (Indian River, Ontario, Canada/St. Peter's) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career.

Asta earned the recognition after claiming Medalist honors with an even-par round of 72, helping lead the Yellow Jackets to a team victory at the BW Fall Tri-Match held at Pine Hills Golf Club last Saturday.

He has enjoyed a strong start to the fall season, recording scores of 72, 71, and 72 across three tournaments. Asta has earned back-to-back Medalist honors, with his first coming at the Joe Campoli Memorial Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University on September 1. At that event, Asta secured the individual title with a one-under round, clinching the win with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.

He currently leads the team with an impressive 71.67 stroke average.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday and Sunday, September 13–14, when they travel to Alliance to compete in the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Club.
