No. 15 Men’s Volleyball Wins Grove City (Pa.) Tri-Match In Two Battles

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The No. 15 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team competed in the Grove City Tri-Match hosted by Grove City College. The Yellow Jackets went undefeated, beating host team Grove City (Pa.) in four sets and Elizabethtown (Pa.) in five sets.

BW (2-0) began strong by winning their first two matches of the 2026 season. The Yellow Jackets defeated Grove City (Pa.) by scores of 27-25, 29-31, 25-15, 25-14 and defeated Elizabethtown (Pa.) in their second match of the day scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.

  • Freshman outside hitter Tyler Schunk (Eden, N.Y.) made his collegiate debut and led the Yellow Jackets in kills with 22, while adding three digs and four service aces 
  • Freshman setter Ethan Gundrum (Cincinnati / McNicholas) made his collegiate debut while giving out a team-leading 48 assists 
  • Senior libero Aiden Kim (Bothell, Wash. / North Creek) had a team-high ten digs 
  • Freshman outside hitter David Thompson (Chesterfield, Va. / Cosby) made his collegiate debut while contributing 19 kills and two assists 

vs. Elizabethtown (Pa.) (3-2)
  • Gundrum had a career-high 56 assists while hitting 100% with two kills
  • Junior outside hitter Owen Huynh (Loveland) had a team-leading 19 kills and 12 digs
  • Junior middle hitter Josh Steinitz (Towson, Md. / Friends School of Baltimore) led the Yellow Jackets in blocks with 2.5

  • The Yellow Jackets will travel to St. John Fisher University to compete in the Fisher Quad on January 23-24. The Brown and Gold will face off against host team St. John Fisher (N.Y.), SUNY Polytechnic University (N.Y.), and Carlow (Pa.)
