ALLIANCE, Ohio – The No. 10 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team competed in the Mount Union Tri-Match hosted by the University of Mount Union inside Timken Gymnasium. The Yellow Jackets split the day winning their first match and falling in their second.
BW (13-3, 1-0 MCVL) began the day defeating the host team 3-2 by scores of 23-25, 25-13, 21-25, 28-26 and 15-12. In their second match, the Yellow Jackets fell to Buffalo (N.Y.) State in four sets by scores of 22-25, 25-12, 26-28, and 17-25.
vs. Mount Union (3-2)
- Junior Academic All-Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League right-side hitter Jacob Esteves (Wickliffe/St. Edward) and junior outside hitter Daniel Latham (Westerville/Westerville Central) led the Yellow Jackets in kills, each contributing 17
- Latham led the Brown and gold with four service aces
- Junior Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Bobby Mayberry (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper St. Clair) led the team with three blocks
- Freshman outside hitter Tyler Schunk (Eden, N.Y.) contributed a team leading 12 digs
- Freshman setter Ethan Gundrum (Cincinnati / McNicholas) gave out a team-high 59 assists
vs. Buffalo (N.Y.) State (1-3)
- Schunk led the Yellow Jackets with 16 kills and three blocks
- Gundrum led BW with 40 assists
- Latham added a team leading 8 digs
- Mayberry led the squad with three service aces
