BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Director of Athletics and Recreation Steve Thompson has announced the hiring of Todd Fox '95 as the inaugural head coach of the University's women's flag football program.
Fox will become the first leader of BW's newest varsity program, bringing more than three decades of coaching, mentorship, and educational leadership to the sidelines at Tressel Field.
A familiar and respected presence within the Yellow Jacket football program, Fox has spent the past three seasons as an defensive coach. During that time, he helped guide a BW defense that consistently ranked among the most competitive units in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Over the past three years, the Yellow Jackets allowed just 23.9 points per game while holding opponents to 335.9 total yards per contest, including 137.0 rushing yards and 198.9 passing yards per game. The defense also generated 64 quarterback sacks during that span, showcasing the aggressive and disciplined approach Fox helped instill.

Prior to returning to Berea, Fox built an accomplished 28-year career at the high school level. He served 12 seasons as a head football coach and 10 seasons as a head wrestling coach. His football programs earned 11 playoff appearances and captured six conference championships.
Fox's career has been equally distinguished in education. Over 28 years, he served as a classroom teacher, school counselor, and administrator, mentoring and shaping students both academically and personally. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education and Teaching from his alma mater and a Master's degree in Counselor Education from Heidelberg University.
As a student-athlete for the Yellow Jackets, Fox was a standout competitor in both football and wrestling. A three-year letterwinner on the gridiron, he helped lead BW to two conference championships in the Ohio Athletic Conference. On the mat, he earned four varsity letters, finishing his collegiate career as an eight-time letterwinner.
Athletics are deeply rooted in the Fox family. His daughter, Ellen, is an Academic All-OAC performer on the women's swimming and diving team, and his son is an Academic All-OAC linebacker for the football program.
The Yellow Jackets will begin their inaugural women's flag football season in the spring of 2027, marking an exciting new chapter in BW athletics.
