ACADEMIC MAJOR: Pre-Physical Therapy

ATHLETIC HONORS: As a junior in 2012, Jay was named as a second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection. As a sophomore in 2011, Jay was awarded the team Gold Glove Award as voted by the players. 

BASEBALL INFORMATION: Jay Yost played in his fourth season of baseball at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014 after not playing in 2012-2013 due to an illness. He earned his third varsity letter.

For his career, Jay hit .317 (84-for-265) with 57 runs scored, 20 doubles, two homeruns and 39 runs batted-in. He also is 21-for-27 in stolen base attempts.

As a freshman in 2009-2010, Jay was the starting shortstop on junior varsity and saw action in six varsity games as a substitute.  He hit .333 (1-for-3) with one run scored.  B-W finished the season 12-23-1 overall.

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Jay played in his second season of baseball and earned his first varsity letter.  He appeared in all 34 games and started 30, mostly at third base.  He hit .232 (23-of-99) with a team-leading six doubles, to go along with one home run, 12 RBI and 16 runs scored.  Jay was 11-of-15 in stolen base attempts. He was awarded the team Gold Glove Award as voted by the players.  B-W finished 17-17.

As a junior in 2011-2012, Jay played in his third season of baseball and earned his second letter. He appeared in and started all 38 games at third base. He batted .381 (53-of-139) with 38 runs scored, 11 doubles, one homer and 26 RBI. He also stole 10 bases. Jay was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference second-team. Jay helped the Yellow Jackets win 27 games and compile a 27-13 overall record.

In the spring of 2013, Jay did not play baseball due to an illness.

As a fifth-year senior in 2013-2014, Jay played in his four season of baseball and earnd his third varsity letter. He appeared in 10 games, including seven starts on the infield. He batted .292 with two runs, seven hits, three doubles, and one RBI. He helped BW to win a single-season school-record 30 games, compile a 30-20 record, win the Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional and advance to the school's first-ever Division III World Series.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Jay Yost grew up in Bascom, Ohio and graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School.  He played four years of baseball, four seasons of football and four seasons of basketball. He earned three varsity letters in baseball, two in football and two in basketball.

In baseball as a sophomore, Jay was honorable mention All-Midland Athletic League. As a junior, he was All-MAL Player of the Year, District Player-of-the-Year runner-up and second-team All-Ohio. As a senior, Jay was again named as a second-team All-Ohio performer for Division IV.

In football as a junior, Jay was named as an honorable mention All-MAL performer. As a senior, he was selected as a first-team All-MAL, All-District and second-team All-Ohio performer. Also in football during his senior season, Jay was a member of Hopewell-Loudon's OHSAA Division VI State Runner-Up team.

In basketball as a junior, Jay was honorable mention All-MAL.
