Tim Croy

Tim Croy enters 13th year as the women's swimming and diving coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2023-24.  7.  Croy previously served as BW’s diving coach from 2006-15 before returning for the 2023-24 season.

During his ?rst stint at BW, Croy’s divers set school records in every diving event on both the men’s and women’s sides.  His athletes captured 19 conference championships, while ?ve divers combined to earn 10 conference Diver of the Year honors.  BW divers also established OAC records in every event for both men and women.

Croy coached two student-athletes to seven NCAA Division III National Championship appearances, where they combined for 14 NCAA All-American honors, highlighted by the 2012 NCAA Division III women’s 1-meter  national runner-up ?nish.  His divers also earned two NCAA National Academic All-American awards.

Croy was named the NCAA Division III National Women’s Diving Coach of the Year in 2012.  He also received the Excellence in Coaching Award for the BW women’s team following the 2014-15 season.

Since returning to BW in 2023-24, Croy’s divers have set seven new school and pool records.  They’ve won eight conference championships and earned four conference Diver of the Year awards among three divers.  BW divers also established new OAC records in both the men’s and women’s 1-meter event.

Croy has also coached seven regional quali?ers, including a women’s 1-meter Region 1 champion. In 2026, he coached the NCAA Division III women’s 1-meter national runner-up, whose performance earned NCAA National All-American honors.  She also received National Academic All-American recognition.

Between his tenures at BW, Croy spent nine seasons as diving coach at Oberlin College from 2014-23.  During his time at Oberlin, he coached an NCAA national ?nalist and All-American, along with multiple conference ?nalists.  His divers also established four new school records.

Beyond his collegiate career, Croy has coached at the high school and club levels for 37 years.  His high school athletes include numerous conference and district champions with 67 divers qualifying for a combined 125 Ohio state meet appearances.  Among those competitors were the 2024 Ohio girls state champion and runner-up.  Croy has coached 15 divers to 28 NISCA All-American honors and has been named Northeast Ohio Diving Coach of the Year four times.  In 2016, he received the Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity Award from the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

At the club level, his divers have quali?ed for multiple USA Diving Age Group National Championships and Amateur Athletic Union National Championship ?nals. More than 50 NCAA programs across all three divisions have recruited his athletes.  Croy has placed over 50 divers on NCAA teams with 23 divers accepting NCAA athletic scholarships.

Competing collegiately at Ohio University, Croy was a multiple Mid-American Conference top-eight ?nalist and an NCAA Division I zone quali?er.  He was named Outstanding Freshman of the Year for the OU Men’s Swimming and Diving team and set the school record in the 1-meter event.
