Doug Byrne '23, '24 enters his first season as an assistant men's wrestling coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2024-25.

Byrne, who is a security engineer at The Lubrizol Corporation, was a four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer, including three consecutive first-team selections, three-time NCAA Division III National qualifier at three different weight classes, two-time NCAA Central Regional Champion at two different weight classes and a two-time All-American.  He was a four-time individual invitational champion and a three-time OAC Men's Wrestler of the Week Award winner.  

Byrne ranks sixth on the school's all-time wins list with a career-record of 117-20.  He recorded 70 pins, 17 major decisions and four technical falls.

Off the mat, Byrne was a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Scholar All-American and an Academic All-OAC performer.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in cybersecurity analyst and a Master's in business administration.
