BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Morgan Baker will be competing in her fourth year of tennis at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. She will look to earn her fourth varsity letter.
GENERAL TENNIS INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2010-2011, Morgan competed in her first season of tennis. Morgan ended her season with a 2-7 overall record while splitting time with senior Katy Marshall at No. 6 singles. Morgan also teamed up with Marshall as the No. 3 doubles tandem and compiled a 13-9 record, including winning 10 of there final 11 matches to end the season. Morgan saw additional time in doubles play when she teamed up with freshman Laura Teigeler (1-0), freshman Whitney Yoder (2-0), and junior Safaa Hajji (2-1). Overall in doubles play, Morgan compiled a record of 18-10. B-W compiled an overall record of 18-8 and finished second in the OAC during the regular season with a record of 8-1. The Yellow Jackets also won the OAC Tournament title and qualified for their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five years.
As a sophomore in 2011-12, Morgan played in her second season of tennis. She played the No. 3 position in singles, ending with a 10-16 record. Morgan joined Rebecca Mittler in the doubles play, ending with a record of 9-14. She also teamed up with Anna Callahan, ending with a record of 0-1.
As a junior in 2012-13, Morgan competed in her third season of tennis earning her third varsity letter. She played at the No. 3 singles spot finishing her season with the records of 8-17 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Morgan also played on the No. 2 doubles team with her younger sister sophomore Makenzi Baker. The duo accumulated an overall record of 10-15, winning seven of their last ten matches. Morgan finished her junior season with an overall record of 18-32. The women's tennis team ended their season with an overall record of 11-10 and a conference record of 6-3.
As a senior in 2013-14, Morgan will play in her fourth season of tennis.
HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Morgan Baker grew up in Vermilion, Ohio and graduated from Elyria Catholic High School. Morgan competed in tennis for four years and earned four varsity letters.
Morgan was a four year NLC champion, placing 2nd in the Lorain County Tournament in 2006 and 2007, and in 2008 1st place in the Lorain County Tournament. She was a two time state qualifier and recieved 5th place at districts in 2009.
