ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team tied the University of Mount Union, 0-0 in double overtime, tonight in an Ohio Athletic Conference match in Mount Union Stadium
With the tie, the Yellow Jackets move to 6-6-4 overall and 1-4-3 in the OAC. With the tie, the Purple Raiders move to 4-8-3 overall and 2-4-2 in the OAC.
In the first half, both teams battled to a scoreless tie. Mount Union outshot BW, 10-8, in the opening period.
In the second half, including two 10-minute overtime sessions, the match remained scoreless. The Purple Raiders outshot The Yellow Jackets, 15-3, in the second half and two overtimes.
In net for BW, senior goalkeeper Ryan Hulings (Centerville) faced 28 Mount Union shots, including 15 on-goal, allowed no goals and made 15 saves in 110:00 minutes of action. Hulings' shutout was his fourth individually this season and fifth combined. Purple Raider senior goalie Jon Critell faced 16 Yellow Jacket shots, including five on-goal, allowed no goal and made five saves in 110:00 minutes of action.
In the match, Mt. Union outshot BW, 28-16, and the two teams tied in the corner kick battle, 7-7.
The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season on Saturday, October 27 when they travel to Marietta to take on the Pioneers of Marietta College in the second game of a women's and men's OAC soccer doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. The women's match kicks off at 1:00 p.m.
