HIRAM, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace
University women's soccer team tied Hiram College, 1-1 in double
overtime, tonight (Wednesday, September 12, 2012) at the Hiram
Soccer Complex.
With the tie, BW remains undefeated and now has a record of
3-0-3 overall and Hiram now has a mark of 2-3-2.
The Terriers' Samantha Zuponcic scored the first goal of the
match at the 49:45 mark.
The Yellow Jackets forced the game into overtime when freshman
forward Audrie
Wolfe (Hilliard/Darby) scored her second goal of the
season as she buried a shot into the back of the net at 88:38.
Wolfe's goal proved to be the final score of the game after two
overtimes.
Yellow Jacket freshman goalkeeper Emily
Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa./ Fairview) played all 110
minutes, faced five shots, including three on-goal, allowed one
goal and had two saves.
In the game, BW outshot Hiram, 21-5, and won the corner kick
battle 13-1.
BW will play its first home game of the season on Saturday,
September 15 when it hosts the Wolverines of Grove City (Pa.)
College in a men's and women's soccer doubleheader at 3:30
p.m. The men's team also will play Grove City in its first
home game of the season at 1:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, October 9, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's
soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Heidelberg
University in a doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime
Ohio (STO). This is the fifth straight year that BW has
televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a 7-1 combined record
on the line, including a 4-0 mark by the women.
