BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University graduate and former football standout Scott Shafer has been named the new head football coach at Syracuse University. Shafer replaces Doug Marrone, who was named the head coach of the National Football League's Buffalo Bills.
The 1990 graduate has served as the Orange's defensive coordinator for the past four years. Prior to to Syracuse, he has coached in different capacities at Indiana University, the University of Rhode Island, Northern Illinois University, the University of Illinois, Western Michigan, Stanford and the University of Michigan.
