ADA, Ohio—The fifth seeded Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team ended its season as it was defeated by the top seeded and Ohio Athletic Conference regular season champion Ohio Northern University, 2-0, in an OAC semifinal game inside Kerscher Stadium.
Despite the BW (12-9-1) loss, senior defender Kelly Gough (Hudson) played in her 84th career game as a Yellow Jacket, which makes her tied with Kadi Tucker '16 for the most games played in the brown and gold.
Ohio Northern (15-3) was led by senior forward Shelby Stephens and junior forward Anna Niemeyer as they each scored for the Polar Bears.
Ohio Northern outshot BW 10-3 and had the only goal of the first half when senior forward Shelby Stephens netted a goal off a touch from freshman forward Haley Moses at the 11:04 mark.
In the second half, each team got off eight shots. Niemeyer closed out the scoring and doubled the Polar Bears lead when she caused a turnover and netted an unassisted goal in the 78th minute.
