Women's Volleyball Splits OAC Doubleheader with Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio –  The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team split an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader against Otterbein University in the Rike Center

Otterbein (7-1, 7-1 OAC) won the first match by 25-14, 25-19, 16-25 and 25-20. BW (3-3, 3-3 OAC) won the second match by scores of 25-21, 25-19, 14-25 and 25-17.

Match 1
The offense attack was led by junior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Cecelia Stebel (Union/Northmont) as she recorded a career-high 17 kills.  Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC right side hitter Alexis Garrett (Mentor) tallied 14 kills.  Senior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Kail Nicholas (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) added a season-best 12 kills. Senior All-OAC setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) set up the offense with 40 assists. Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) keyed the back line with 18 a season-high digs. Senior Academic All-OAC libero/defensive specialist Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) contributed 14 digs. 

Match 2
Stebel and Earl led the attack with 12 kills apiece.  Garrett posted double figures in kills for the second match with 10.   Egan set up the offense with a match-high 32 assists.  Earl and Reinhard anchored the defense as he each tallied a match-high tying 18 digs.  Egan contributed 12 digs.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, March 23 when they host an OAC doubleheader against Heidelberg University in the Ursprung Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
