OAC and Season Starts with Victory, Women’s Swimming and Diving Defeats Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team opened the 2024-25 season and the Ohio Athletic Conference campaign as it defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 128-50 in the Wilmington Natatorium.

BW (1-0, 1-0 OAC) won eight individual titles and both relay races.   Wilmington (0-1, 0-1 OAC) won one individual title.  

Individuals
  • Freshman stroker Ameila Wands (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) won the 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter freestyle in times of 1:25.00 and 1:07.22, respectively.
  • Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 100-meter butterfly in a time of 1:08.75
  • Sophomore All-OAC freestyler Melina Roberts (Westlake) won the 800-meter freestyle in a time of 10:45.42
  • Junior stroker Mallory Upcraft (Oswego, N.Y.) won the 200-meter individual medley in a time of 2:41.35
  • Sophomore Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) won the 200-meter freestyle in a time of 2:30.19
  • Freshman stroker Annalise Bolton (Berea/Berea-Midpark) won the 400-meter freestyle in a time of 5:20.60
  • Freshman stroker Addie Darding (Columbus/Upper Arlington) finished second in the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 28.05
  • Freshman stroker Brooke Radcliff (North Canton/Hoover) won the 100-meter backstroke in a time of 1:12.39
Relays
  • The 200-meter medley team of Radcliff, Wands, Dondorfer and Darding won in a time of 2:13.27
  • The 200-meter freestyle team of Dondorfer, junior Academic All-OAC stroker Ariel Lisy (Strongsville), Darding and Radcliff won in a time of 2:01.58
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 26 when they travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania for a pair of non-conference dual meets against Allegheny College and Fredonia (N.Y.) University in the Mellon Pool inside the David V. Wise Center Sports Complex at 1 p.m.
