BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team defeated the University of Mount Union by a final score of 1-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
BW (6-8-3, 1-5 OAC) picked up their first conference win of the season by knocking off Mount Union (11-4-1, 5-1 OAC): the top team in the OAC. The chippy contest featured five yellow cards and a red at the end of regulation as the Yellow Jackets gave the Purple Raiders their first conference lost of the season and earned their first win over Mount Union since 2020.
BW Leaders
- Sophomore defender Jakob Young (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) scored his fourth goal of the season and is now tied for second-most on the team
- Sophomore goalkeeper Diego Teran (Exton, Pa./Henderson) shut out the Purple Raiders to keep his team in the game by making four saves for his third clean sheet of the season
- The Brown and Gold defense led by senior Alan Beaney (Alan, Texas/Lovejoy), junior Aidan O'Neill (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark), freshman Brady Brown (Muskegon, Mich./Fruitport), freshman Jacek Gomez (Avon Lake), and freshman Robbie Rochford (Fairlawn/Copley) only allowed four shots on goal on the night
