MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team won a pair of non-conference dual meets against host Allegheny College and Fredonia (N.Y.) University in the Mellon Pool inside the David V. Wise Center Sports Complex.
BW (3-0) defeated Allegheny (2-3) by a final score of 178-78 and defeated Fredonia (0-4) by a final score of 224-24.
Individuals
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Park) won the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly in times of 52.35 and 2:04.24
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke in times of 55.00 and 2:00.25, respectively
- Senior All-OAC diver Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich.) won both 1-meter diving events with total points of 165.50 and 272.35, respectively
- Senior stroker Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas) won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:25.46 and was second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:53.02
- Sophomore stroker Owen Rogonjic (Mentor) won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 52.96
- Senior stroker Jack Kielmeyer (Westerville/South) was second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.52
- Junior freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) was second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:41.31
- Junior Tyler Warner (Mexico, N.Y./Mexico Academy) was second on the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:08.86
- Sophomore stroker Michael Gruber (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) was second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:34.59
- Freshman stroker Danny Murphy (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) was second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:18.99
Relays
- The 400-yard medley relay unit of junior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro), Tafoya, McQueary and Kingsley won in a time of 3:48.05
- The 200-yard freestyle squad of McQueary, Kielmeyer, senior freestyler Luke Minick (Stow/Archbishop Hoban) and Kingsley won in a time of 1:31.52.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 2 when they host their home opener with a non-conference dual meet against Ohio Wesleyan University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 1 p.m.
