Men’s Swimming and Diving Remains Perfect, Defeats Ohio Wesleyan in Home Opener

BEREA, Ohio – In its home opener, the Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams remained undefeated on the season as it knocked off Ohio Wesleyan University by a final score of 114-04 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (4-0) won five individual events and one relay.  Ohio Wesleyan (0-2) won six individual events and one relay
Individuals
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC stroker Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Park) won the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley with times of 48.89 and 2:01.84, respectively
  • Senior All-OAC diver Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich.) won both 1-meter diving events with total points of 174.05 and 261.35
  • Senior All-OAC stroker Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:00.51
  • Senior freestyler Erik Tagg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley)) was second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:43.37
  • Junior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) was second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 57.71
  • Senior stroker Jack Kielmeyer (Westerville/South) took third in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:07.23
  • Senior stroker Jason Tafoya (El Paso) took third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:56.99
  • Senior stroker Luke Minick (Stow/Archbishop Hoban) took third in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.95
  • Sophomore stroker Owen Rogonjic (Mentor) took third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24/09
Relays
  • The 200-medley relay squad of Kingsley, Tafoya, McQueary and Minick won in a time of 1:41.46
  • The 400-yard freestyle unit of Kingsley, Minick, freshman freestyler Mason Carnahan (Willard) and Rogonjic was second in a time of 3:29.20
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 16 when they host an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet against the University of Mount Union at 1 p.m.
