Men’s Tennis Closes Out Fall Season with Two Victories

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team closed out the fall portion of its schedule undefeated as it swept a pair of non-conference matches on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (6-0) opened the day by defeating Ohio Wesleyan University (1-1) by a final score of 5-2.  The Yellow Jackets then defeated NAIA Mount Vernon Nazarene University (0-9) by a final score of 7-0.  This season, the NCAA Division III tennis has adopted a new policy as doubles matches now account for one team point and not three points like in previous years.

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and junior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) won at first doubles by a score 6-2
  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and freshman Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W. Va.) won at second doubles by a score of 6-3
  • McGee won at first singles by scores of 6-3 and 7-5
  • Freshman Vinny Cannata (Aurora) won at fourth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
  • Freshman Will Westberry (Niles, Mich./St. Joseph's {Ind.}) won at fifth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-3
  • Senior All-OAC Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) won at sixth singles by scores of 4-6, 6-2 and 6-2
