BEXLEY, Ohio- The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by Capital University by a final score of 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener on Purmont Field at Bernlohr Stadium.
BW (5-4-3, 0-1 OAC) dropped its first OAC game of the season after Capital (2-5-3, 1-0 OAC) scored three goals within a six-minute span. The Yellow Jackets outshot the Comets 20-13 but only one of those shots could find the net.
BW Leaders
- Freshman forward Carter Stanaczyk (Sheffield Village/Lutheran West) scored the only goal of the night for the Brown and Gold
- Senior Academic All-OAC forward Evan Scott (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) recorded his first assist of the year
- Sophomore goalkeeper Diego Teran (Exton, Pa./Henderson) totaled four saves
- Sophomore forward Alex Horak (Ravenna/Roosevelt) led the team with four shots

- Freshman forward Nico Voight scored a game-high two goals
- Sophomore defender Jackson Terry added a goal for the Comets
- Freshman goalkeeper Noah Thomas tallied five saves

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, October 9 as they travel to Ada for an Ohio Athletic Conference game against No. 25 nationally Ohio Northern University at 7 p.m. at Kerscher Stadium.
