Women’s Golf Closes Out Fall Season, Takes Ninth at John Carroll Fall Invitational

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team closed out the fall portion of its schedule as it finished in ninth place at the John Carroll Fall Invitational at the Manakiki Golf Course.

BW was ninth of 11 teams with 749 total strokes on the par-72 and 5,972 Manakiki layout. NCAA Division II Ashland University and DePauw (Ind.) University were co-champions with 640 strokes.

  • Junior Academic All-OAC Alana Smith (Fremont/Ross) fired rounds of 80 and 94 for a two-round total of 174
  • Senior Academic All-OAC Brooke Newsome (Clyde) carded rounds of 94 and 86 for a two-day total of 180
  • Freshman Mia Whitt (North Royalton) shot rounds of a career-low tying 94 and 98 for a two-round total of 192
  • Junior Marissa Moriconi (Magnolia/Sandy Vally) tallied rounds of 104 and 99 for a two-day total of 203
  • Senior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) had rounds of 112 and 1-9 for a two-round total of 221
Individuals
  • Freshman Jessie Herron (Tiffin/Columbian) only played in the first round and shot a 110
