BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team was defeated by the University of Mount Union in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet by a final score 149-78 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
BW (4-1, 1-1 OAC) won four individual events. Mount Union (3-2, 1-1 OAC) won six individual races and both. relays.
Individuals
- Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC stroker Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Park) won the 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard individual medley in times of 1:56.83 and 4:27.90
- Senior All-OAC diver Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich.) won both 1-meter events with total points of 178.60 and 288.30
- Senior All-OAC stroker Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) took second in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:00.82 and was third in 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.05
- Junior freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) took third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:25.29
Relays
- The 200-medley unit of junior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro), senior stroker Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas), McQueary and Kingsley took second in a time of 1:40.12
- The 400-yard freestyle squad of senior stroker Jack Kielmeyer (Westerville/South), Meyer, sophomore stroker Owen Rogonjic (Mentor) and freshman freestyler Mason Carnahan (Willard) took fourth in a time of 3:37.07
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on November 21-23 when they travel to Canton to compete in the three-day NCAA Division II Malone University Invitational at the CT Branin Natatorium.
