Men's Soccer Closes Season with Big Win Over Muskingum on Seniors' Night

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer closed the 2024 season by defeating Muskingum University by a final score of 4-0 on Seniors' Night and in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

Prior to the game, BW honored seniors Alan Beaney, Matt Beck, Andrew Dickson, Jr., Brandon Eddy, Topher Garcia, Abud Hussein, Josh Kazyak, Colin McGlinch, Colin Robinson, and Evan Scott. BW's victory wraps up the 2024 season where the squad finished with a final record of 7-8-5 and an OAC record of 2-5-2 while Muskingum finishes the season with a record of 4-13-2 and an 0-9 record in the OAC.

BW Leaders
  • Junior Academic All-OAC forward Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson) took a game-high four shots and scored one goal
  • Junior forward Max Yakym (Parma/Normandy) scored his fifth goal of the season tying the team-lead
  • Sophomore forward Owen Huzicka (Gahanna/Lincoln) scored his first goal of the season on one shot
  • Junior midfielder Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward) only needed one shot to score and extend the BW lead
  • Sophomore defender Jakob Young (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) assisted on two of the Yellow Jackets' goals
  • Freshman defender Jacek Gomez (Avon Lake) recorded his first collegiate point with an assist
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Diego Teran (Exton, Pa./Henderson) and Beck recorded a combined shutout with three saves and one save respectively
  • Garcia, Dickson Jr., Eddy, McGlinch, Scott, and Robinson each took one shot in their final game in the Brown and Gold
  • Beaney led the Yellow Jackets' lock-down defense by allowing only six total shots by the Muskies
  • Hussein put pressure on the Muskingum defense with a handful of fast breaks in the game's final minutes

  • Freshman goalkeeper Noah Emmons faced 16 shots on goal and made 11 saves
  • Junior midfielder Jacob Gulu took a team-high three shots with one on goal

  • 13:11 - Gomez headed a fast break and passed it to Young who found Yakym to put the Jackets up by two
