Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Third at NCAA Division II Malone Invitational

CANTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team finished in third place at the three-day NCAA Division II Malone University Invitational inside the C.T. Branin Natatorium.
 
BW was third of 16 teams with 745 points.  NCAA Division II Gannon (Pa.) University was the champion with 1,640 points.
 
Individuals
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor), who is this week's OAC Swimmer of the Week, won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:10.47, third in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:13.05 and fifth in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.14
  • Freshman diver Emmalie Mitzel (Massillon/Jackson) won the 1-meter event with 370.75 total points and was second in the 3-meter event with 295.75 points.
  • Junior stroker Mallory Upcraft (Oswego, N.Y.) was second in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:11.76 and 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:50.56
  • Freshman freestyler Kate Harrington (Falls Church, Va./ George C. Marshall) took seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.89, 11th in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 54.73 and 16th in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:04.96
  • Freshman stroker Brooke Radcliff (North Canton/Hoover) finished 11th in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:17.12 and 12th in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:02.81
  • Freshman stroker Amelia Wands (East Amherst, New York/Williamsville North) was 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:14.25
  • Junior All-OAC freestyler Melina Roberts (Westlake) was seventh in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:19.51 and 17th in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 19:48.70
Relays
  • The 400-yard freestyle squad of Harrington, Radcliff, Upcraft and Dondorfer placed third in a time of 3:39.83
  • The 200-medley squad of Radcliff, Wands, Dondorfer and Harrington finished fourth in a time of 1:53.85
  • The 400-yard medley unit of freshman stroker Radcliff, Wands, Dondorfer and Harrington placed fifth in a time of 4:12.42
  • The 200-yard freestyle team of Harrington, Wands, junior freestyler Emily Kusar (Perry) and Radcliff finished sixth in a time of 1:42.06
  • The 800-yard freestyle crew of sophomore stroker Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf), Roberts, sophomore stroker Abby Marquardt (Pickerington/Central) and freshman stroker Annalise Bolton (Berea/Berea-Midpark) took seventh in a time of 8:41.67
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, December 7 when they travel to Tiffin for a non-conference dual meet against Bluffton University and an OAC dual meet against Heidelberg University inside the Tiffin YMCA at 1 p.m.
