Women’s Swimming and Diving Continues Winning Streak, Sweeps Bluffton and Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team continued its season opening winning streak as it swept a non-conference dual against Bluffton University and an Ohio Athletic Conference dual against Heidelberg University inside the Tiffin YMCA Natatorium.
 
BW improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the OAC.  Bluffton fell to 0-7 overall and Heidelberg   fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 OAC.
 
Individuals
  • Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:04.65 and a season-best mark of 1:13.99, respectively
  • Freshman stroker Amelia Wands (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle in times of 26.79 and 59.22, respectively
  • Senior stroker Brooklyn Duguay (Aurora) won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:34.73
  • Junior All-OAC freestyler Melina Roberts (Westlake) won the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 5:42.78
  • Junior stroker Mallory Upcraft (Oswego, N.Y.) won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:25.59
  • Sophomore stroker Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:12.82
  • Freshman stroker Brooke Radcliff (North Canton/Hoover) won the 100-yard butterfly in a career-best time of 1:02.12
Relays
  • The 200-yard medley unit of Radcliff, Wands, Upcraft and Dondorfer won in a time of 1:59.93
  • The 200-yard freestyle squad of freshman stroker Addie Darding (Columbus/Upper Arlington), sophomore stroker Zoey Hicks (Perry), sophomore stroker Abby Marquardt (Pickerington/Central) and sophomore stroker Lainey McDaniels (Cuyahoga Falls) finished second in a time of 1:55.14
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Thursday, December 19 when they travel to Sarasota, Florida for a non-conference dual meet against Randolph-Macon (Va.) College at the Arlington Park Aquatic Complex at 4:30 p.m.
