Men’s Wrestling 2024-25 Season Outlook

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team has its sights set on a school-record fifth straight Ohio Athletic Conference Championship.

BW returns the two-time defending NCAA Division III 149-pound champion, two All-Americans, the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Year, seven All-OAC selections, four Academic All-OAC honorees and five National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans from last year's squad that finished sixth at the NCAA Division III Championships and won its fourth straight OAC Championship.

All-Americans
  • Senior Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) returns as a three-time All-American and two-time 149-pound champion.  He enters the season seventh on the school's all-time wins list with 115 career victories and has won 76 straight matches. Petrella comes into the campaign ranked first nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
  • Senior Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J.) returns as a two-time All-American and the 131-pound national runner-up.  He starts the season 13th on the school's all-time wins list with 104 career wins and ranked second nationally.
All-OAC Performers
  • Senior Carter Lloyd (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) comes into the season ranked tied for 43rd on the school's all-time wins list with 72 career victories and ranked 10th nationally
  • Senior Donovan Palmer (North Ridgeville/Lutheran West) enters the season with 61 career victories
  • Senior Robby Palmieri (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) comes into the season ranked 39th on the school's all-time wins list with 74 career victories
  • Senior Tommy West (Avon Lake/St. Edward) enters the season ranked tied for 29th on the school's all-time wins list with 83 career victories and ranked 15th nationally.
  • Sophomore Andrew Supers (Medina) comes into the season after posting 35 wins and being a national qualifier his first season.   He is ranked sixth nationally.
Returning Veterans The Yellow Jackets open the 2024-25 campaign on Saturday, November 9 when they travel to Angola, Indiana to compete in the Trine University Invitational.  BW opens OAC action on Tuesday, November 12 when it travels to Wilmington to take on Wilmington College.  The Yellow Jackets host their home opener on Friday, November 22 when they take on Delaware Valley (Pa.) University in a non-conference match.
