Women's Volleyball Splits Tri-Match to Conclude 2024 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team concluded the 2024 season as they competed in a non-conference tri-match hosted by Juniata (Pa.) College where they defeated York (Pa.) College by a score of 3-1 and fell to No. 1 nationally ranked Juniata by a score of 3-0.

BW opened the tri-match by taking down York by set scores of 25-22, 25-14, 23-25, and 26-16 to earn their final victory of the season. The Brown and Gold then faced off against the No. 1 team in the country where they fell in straight sets of 20-25, 14-25, and 12-25. The Yellow Jackets finish the season with a 15-14 record and a 3-6 record in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

  • Junior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) posted a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs
  • Freshman middle hitter Josie Lynn (Wabash, Ind./Northfield) and senior outside hitter Sydney Simonson (Sullivan/Black River) each recorded 6 total blocks
  • Senior All-OAC libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/St. Joseph Academy) led the game with 24 digs and served up three aces
  • Lynn and senior outside hitter Brinn MacLellan (Novelty/Gilmour Academy) each had 11 kills
  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference setter Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) finished with 39 assists for her 24th 30-assist game of the season
at No. 1 Juniata (26-0)
  • Senior All-OAC outside hitter Sam Rueda (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) finished her BW career with a game-high nine kills
  • Gardner added 16 digs and finishes fourth on BW's All-Time Digs Leaderboard with 1,958
  • Blazetic had 17 assists and finishes the regular season with the most assists in the OAC
  • Junior Academic All-OAC defensive specialist Jamie Snell (Strongsville) had nine digs
