ERIE, Pa. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team won their first game of the 2024 season against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts by a score of 7-0 in the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament Consolation Game hosted by Penn State University-Behrend at Behrend Stadium.
BW Leaders (1-1)
- Junior midfielder Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward) scored a goal on three shots on goal and added two assists for a game-high four points
- Junior forward Max Yakym (Parma/Normandy) finished with a goal and an assist
- Junior midfielder Michael Giganti (Uniontown/Lake) scored a goal on his only shot of the day
- Senior forward Evan Scott (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) took two shots and scored one goal
- Junior midfielder Owen Reyes (North Olmsted) scored for the first time this season
- Freshman midfielder Vincent Vukovic (Kirtland) scored the first goal of his collegiate career
- Junior midfielder Brendan Waters (Lakewood/St. Edward) was the seventh Jacket to score on the day
- Sophomore forward Owen Huzicka (Gahanna Lincoln) tied a game-high two assists
- Freshman midfielder Maguire Alden (Alexandria, Va./Edison) also tallied an assist
- Freshman midfielder Robbie Rochford (Fairlawn/Copley) recorded his first career assist
- Sophomore goalkeeper Seth Warrick (Avon) had one save in his first career win in the net

- Senior goalkeeper Ryan Taylor had a game-high eight saves

- 3:18 - Alden found Skladany for the first BW goal of the 2024 season
- 18:27 - Yakym increased the lead thanks to a Skladany assist
