MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule as it competed in the rain shortened Allegheny College Invitational.
The two-day invitational was shortened to just one day after inclement weather canceled the first day of action on Saturday. With only one day of competition, each competitor played one singles match and two doubles matches.
Singles
- Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Emma Trost (Norwalk) defeated Moe Ariyoshi of Oberlin by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
- Sophomore Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) defeated Adriana Navarro of Allegheny by scores of 6-4 and 6-3
- Sophomore Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) defeated Mollie Gray of NCAA Division II Mercyhurst (Pa.) by scores of 6-2 and 6-4
- Freshman Kate Slutz (Salem/West Branch) defeated Abby Joy of Allegheny by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
Doubles
- The Yellow Jackets did not earn a victory.
BW is back in action on Saturday, September 7 when it hosts its home opener in a women's and men's non-conference doubleheader against Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) College on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
