BEREA, Ohio – For the second straight weekend, the Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team swept a non-conference doubleheader on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (4-0) opened the day by defeating Berea (Ky.) College (0-1) by a final score of 7-0.  In the nightcap, the Yellow Jackets defeated Earlham (Ind.) College (0-1) by a final score of 7-0. This season, the NCAA Division III tennis has adopted a new policy as doubles matches now account for one team point and not three points like in previous years.

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) and senior Academic All-OAC Caleb Reed (Wilmington) won at first singles by a score of 6-1
  • Senior Academic All-OAC Jack Hindman (Avon) and freshman Parker Campbell (Berlin Heights/Edison) won at second doubles by a score 6-2
  • Senior Austin Kingsley (Northpoint, N.Y.) and senior Will Laskey (Mansfield/Madison) won by forfeit

  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) won at second singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
  • Sophomore Nathan Meier (Brunswick) won at third singles by scores of 4-6, 6-4 and 1-0 (10-7)
  • Laskey won at fourth singles by scores of 6-4 and 7-5
  • Campbell won at fifth singles by forfeit

  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and freshman Will Westberry (Niles, Mich./St. Joseph's {Ind.}) won at second doubles by a score of 6-3
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and freshman Vinny Cannata (Aurora) won at third doubles by a score of 6-0

  • Horvath won at first singles by identical scores of 6-2
  • McGee won at second singles by scores of 6-2 and 7-5
  • Cannata won at third singles by scores of 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3)
  • Westberry won at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-1
  • Harders won at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-4
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Joe Donnelly (Lodi/Cloverleaf) won at sixth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-4

BW is back in action on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 21, 22 and 22 when it travels to St. Louis, Missouri to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championships hosted by Washington University in the Tao Tennis Center.
