WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the second time in the first two weeks of the season, a Baldwin Wallace University football student-athlete has been recognized by the Ohio Athletic Conference as a player of the week.

This week, sophomore quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon) earns his first career OAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the BW offensive to an impressive 42-7 victory over Wilmington College in the OAC opener and first road game for the Yellow Jackets.

Bubonics completed 24-of-30 passes for a career-high 302 yards with a career-best four touchdowns.  He also rushed for one touchdown.

This season, Bubonics has completed 45-of-56 passes for 486 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. He has carried the ball 14 times for 19 yards with one touchdown and a long of 14.

For his career, Bubonics has appeared in six games and has completed 65-of-96 passes for 773 yards with nine touchdowns.  

BW is back in action on Saturday, September 21 when they travel to Bexley for an OAC game against Capital University on Purmort Field inside Bernlohr Stadium at 1:30.   The Yellow Jackets return home on Saturday, September 28 when they host an OAC and Homecoming game against the defending OAC Champion University of Mount Union on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 2 p.m.
