Women’s Golf Finishes 24th at Elite Midwest Region Classic

KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in 24th place at the Midwest Region Classic hosted by Benedictine (Ill.) University at the Brighton Dale Links.

BW was 24th of 30 teams with a two round total of 722 strokes on the par-72 and 5,868 Brighton Dale layout.  California Lutheran University was the champion with 615 strokes.

  • Junior Academic All-OAC Alana Smith (Fremont/Ross) fired rounds of 87 and 82 for a two day total of 169
  • Senior Academic All-OAC Brooke Newsome (Clyde) carded rounds of 85 and 86 for a two round total of 171
  • Freshman Mia Whitt (North Royalton) shot rounds of career-low tying 94 and 96 for a two day total of 190
  • Freshman Gillian Mitchell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) tallied rounds of 100 and career-low tying 92 for a two round total of 192
  • Junior Marissa Moriconi (Sandy Valley/Magnolia) had rounds of 107 and 97 for a two day total of 204
Individuals
  • Senior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) shot rounds of 96 and 110 for a two round total of 206
  • Freshman Jessie Herron (Tiffin/Columbian) tallied rounds of a career-low 109 and 111 for a two day total of 220
  • Freshman Sabrina Crowley (North Ridgeville/Midview) had rounds of 120 and a career-low 107 for a two round total of 227
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, September 28 and 29 when they travel to West Lafayette, Ohio to compete in the OAC Fall Preview hosted by Heidelberg University at the River Greens Golf Club.
