Men’s Indoor Track and Field Caps Off Action at SPIRE Midwest Open

GENEVA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed at the SPIRE Midwest Open hosted by SPIRE Institute. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Freshman Aidan Simmons (Frederick, Md. / Walkersville) finished third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.16. Simmons also placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.01.
  • Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) finished fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.94. Noeth also placed 11th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.61.
Field event highlights:
  • Senior All-American high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won his second consecutive high jump with a height of 2.08 meters.
  • Junior Kaedan Faggs (Marion / Harding) finished second in the long jump with a mark of 6.95 meters. Faggs also competed in the high jump, placing ninth with a height of 1.85 meters.
  • Junior All-OAC triple jumper Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia) finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.67 meters.
  • Senior Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) placed third in the shot put with a mark of 14.84 meters. Kiesel also finished eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.76 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x400 relay squad, Noeth, freshman Oliver Veliquette (Louisville, Ky. / Louisville Collegiate School), freshman Will Prato (Massillon / Jackson) and sophomore Samuel Skor (Columbia Station / Columbia) placed fifth in a time of 3:26.02.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. as they host the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
